Halloween Time 2012 Photo UpdateWritten by Matt
Spent the first page checking out all the Halloween Time decor around the Resort. Good and in the Halloween mood now, right?
Well, if someone blindfolded you and lead you in here, you would never know it's Halloween Time.
You'd think Buena Vista Street's first Halloween Time would be greeted with Halloween decor equal to that of Disneyland's Main Street, right?
Well actually...there's absolutely NOTHING in terms of Halloween decor ANYWHERE around here.
Elias and Co.? Nothing.
The mini-hub just off Buena Vista St. and Carthay Circle? Nada.
Looking back down Buena Vista Street... zero.
If you're looking for something Halloween-related, this is pretty much it.
Since this was the sole focus of the last update, check that update out to see everything that's going on in here
Here's a legacy of Tron: Legacy - a 3D extended preview for Frankenweenie. Only this one runs all day and night.
So anyone looking for Muppets, like kids who don't watch or care about Tim Burton movies, are out of luck.
The "improvements" being improvements to Frankenweenie's box office revenue numbers... so they hope.
Bottom line - if you're looking for Halloween-themed fun, DCA is not the place to find it.
But who cares when Disneyland has so much of it, right?
Well, Mickey's Halloween Party forces Disneyland to close for non-party goers as early as 6pm or 7pm.
DCA is offered as the alternative place to go, but as you've just seen, DCA does not provide hardly any Halloween stuff at all.
So people who come to Disneyland without knowing about the hard ticket party, who come specifically to see the seasonal Halloween stuff,
are almost completely out of luck, and disappointed.
Even Radiator Springs Racers doesn't seem that great considering it's year-round, & DCA's lines are stuffed with people also kicked out of Disneyland.
What else does DCA not do? How about staying open later on Halloween Party nights for those who aren't attending the party?
10/3 EDIT: The day after this update was first published, Disney management changed Disney California Adventure's operating calendar to extend DCA's hours from 11pm to Midnight closes for all Friday Halloween Party event nights (which is every Friday night in October). It's a small olive branch, but doesn't really help guests on non-Friday Party nights when Disneyland closes as early as 6pm for Mickey's Halloween Party. This year Disney has sent the message stronger than it has in the past.
Do not expect compensation or consolation if you don't buy a ticket for the seperate admission party.
It's a chilling message given how a hard ticket Christmas party and hard ticket New Year's Eve party are both coming,
and may only be one or two years away.
Alright, well what do you say we check out a park that does have some Halloween decor?
Disneyland certainly has lots of it! Check it out coming up next.
